Kasha Studio Ltd was formed in 2005 and is based in Barnet, North London. We pride ourselves on sample and production manufacturing at the high end of the fashion industry. In order to achieve this, we have assembled a small team of individuals who are highly skilled in the various processes of garment making, from understanding patterns, cutting, assembly, pressing and finishing. All of our business activities are carried out in the UK under strict supervision. Occasionally my team are asked to help designers to help prepare for Fashion shows, this is the only exception when our skills are used off the premises.

 

All staff members involved in process of making garments are selectively employed for their unique skills are paid considerably well (possibly the best in London). It is not an option or consideration to encourage a minimum wage environment as such low paid employers do not have the skills Kasha Studio requires. We have no inclination to out source orders abroad but we do intend to expand our business over the next 3  to 5 years. All staff work a regular 40 hour week depending on demands. If we do have additional work or a tight deadline to meet, individual team members may be asked whether they would like to work longer hours but this is not compulsory.  This may include additional work at weekends but this is optional, not compulsory. My team enjoy excellent working conditions, as you have seen and I encourage regular breaks. They have their own kitchen to prepare warm foods. Toilet facilities are of a high standard and always exceptionally maintained. 

 

Regarding sustainability, we are a very small company in an ever challenging industry however we try to do our bit to make a difference. The team are encouraged to be resourceful in using energy and resouce and are all equally responsible. There is very minimal waste of materials and this is due to such awareness. We pride ourselves in re-cycling and we  have specific bins in our cutting room. Being so close to a Civic Amenities Site, all offcuts of cloth are recycled as well as the enormous amount paper, packaging, plastic and cardboard that is delivered. We re-cycle at least once a week. All our marketing, accounting and general administration is managed on line and we encourage a paperless environment. We have a company vehicle which is an unleaded/electric hybrid with very low emissions. We request couriers to use low emission vehicles, where possible. On all other occasions we recommend our staff to be as considerate to the environment.

 

We are very aware of sustainability as a company, and as individuals, it is part of my strong personal beliefs and something we encourage as a company policy that my team to adopt in the work place. We fully embrace these ethics and ideals.
